Fitter/Mechanic

Our client has a fantastic employee benefit scheme in place and pride themselves on promoting from within. Due to continued growth there is a position for an Experienced or a Trainee professional Fitter/Mechanic for their Farnham branch.

The Role:

You will be required to repair and service a wide range of equipment including Excavators from 0.8 Ton to 8 Ton, Dumpers to 10 Ton and an arrange of access equipment.

Ensuring the workshop is clean and tidy and that Safety equipment including PPE is used and all damages are reported.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in similar industry, strong communication and organisational skills and be able to manage own time.

You will work well under pressure, have the ability to prioritise tasks and solve the problems. An NVQ or equivalent qualification in plant maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities:

Repairing, servicing and maintaining all tools, plant and powered access equipment including electrical and hydraulic repairs, along with petrol and diesel engines

Working as part of a team in a workshop environment

Completing any relevant repair and service paperwork. You will need to be computer literate for this

To participate in training programmes as required

Previous experience in repairing tool hire equipment, plant or powered access machinery is advantageous

A mechanical understanding – comprising of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical engineering

Taking break down calls from Customers, diagnosing and advising over the phone

Attending customer’s sites to inspect and repair hire equipment

Disciplined approach to work with strong communication and time management skills

Any other ad hoc roles as required.

Hours:  6.30 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday – Friday finish at 17:30 (flexible Start times available if required)
